Notes regarding current Canada Post strike
Following one year of failed negotiations, Canada Post employees announced the need to strike beginning on Friday November 15. Just the Goods’ operations will be impacted only slightly, as outlined below:
-
Clients in Winnipeg who usually choose shipping by Canada Post are invited to select pick up at Organic Planet (877 Westminster Ave), or enjoy retail access to select products at Organic Planet, Refill Market (634 Notre Dame Ave), and Planet Pantry (145-25 Forks Market Rd). If this is not an option, please continue to choose Canada Post at checkout and I’ll make alternate arrangements either with UPS or other local courier services.
-
For clients elsewhere in Canada, Just the Goods is making a temporary switch to UPS where possible. Comparable rates to Canada Post are sometimes available through shopify, but not always. Please continue to choose Canada Post at checkout -- the UPS rates shown are not very accurate. I’ll reach out in the case of any major discrepancies, or in the case where an alternate mailing address may be required since UPS can not deliver to PO Boxes (i.e. those located inside Canada Post offices or Canada Post partner locations). Parcels entered into the system to prior to November 15 may be delayed.
-
Clients in the United States will not be affected thanks to Just the Goods’ relationship with a third party broker that facilitates our access to USPS domestic mail services.
-
Clients shipping to other International destinations via US-based virtual mailboxes or consolidated services such as Asendia, Orange, or Flat Export, etc will not be affected. I’ve been reaching out to those who have selected Canada Post services to communicate alternate options, and will continue to do so on a case-by-case basis
Hopefully a positive resolution will be reached before too long. If anything major changes I’ll be sure to communicate via newsletter and social media. Thank you so much for your understanding!
