It also plays a role in maintaining healthy blood sugar and blood pressure, and building healthy bones. There are many different forms of magnesium, some of which cause some people digestive upset when taken as a nutritional supplement beyond whatever they happen to consume as part of a balanced diet (i.e. nuts and seeds, dark leafy greens, etc). This is a very common temporary sensation that goes away upon regular application as skin becomes accustomed to absorbing the magnesium, primarily through hair follicles. If you have sensitive skin, it may be best to avoid magnesium oil. If you're not sure, and you're curious, you can try patch testing in a small area of your thigh or forearm to notice how much -- if any -- temporary discomfort you experience over a 24 hour period.
